End of the summer!

August 10th, 2011

Sadly, ITC's summer camp season has come to an end for 2011, but we had an AMAZING summer!  New friendships were made, old friends were reunited, and priceless memories were created by all alike.  New and returning campers, staff and volunteers all contributed to make this the BEST. SUMMER. EVER.  Thanks to our staff and all of the members of the community for dedicating their time and energies to make this summer a success!  And thank you to all of our campers for sharing your summer with us - YOU make ITC the special place that it is!!

In the spirit of ITC let's continue to remember this summer by sharing what our favorite memories are!  Or if you have a favorite story, or testimony on how ITC impacted you, we would love to hear that too!  No matter how you are affliated with ITC, we want to hear from you!  Please share on this blog or connect with us on Facebook.

What I remember most about this past summer at ITC is how great it feels to be a part of the ITC family. Working only a few hours a week I don't get a chance to interact with the campers as much as I would like but when I do it, it is always an uplifting experience. When I check in campers each session it is fun to see how happy each camper is. I often have several campers who sit by the check in table with me and welcome back their friends and have a warm welcome for those coming for the first time. The social network that goes on here at ITC is an example that society in general should follow - one where every one is a friend and part of the family. What's that old saying¦ You are a stranger here but once!

Noah's favorite part was the singing and the dancing! His mom's favorite part was seeing him come home happy, tired, and wanting to go back to camp again! Thanks to all the staff and campers who made his experience a memorable one.

This summer was good. I miss it already. I wish camp will come again soon. I had fun in Potowotami and the councilors that were in the cabin. You remember Andrew, Garret, and Gabriel? We were known as the Outlaws that don't follow no rules.

I have so many favorite memories from this summer, but one of my favorite was the boat trip on the Grand Lady. We had an amazing time laughing and sharing stories as we rode along the lovely Grand River! Good times.

I had so much fun this summer - I loved it ALL! The boat trip on the Grand Lady was relaxing and fun, the ITC Talent Show was AWESOME, and the Tim McGraw impersonator was out of this world! And who can forget the counselor that dressed up and ran around camp as "the orange guy!" No matter what activities or programming was going on at ITC, what I enjoyed most was that no matter where we came from or who we are or how many sessions we were here for, we all - campers and staff alike - love this place! And as we all move forward we will continue to be connected because of the fond memories that we have from the SUMMER of 2011! I IKE IKUS!
